The launch of the 2018 Audi RS8 is very much anticipated by all Audi car enthusiasts. As yet, no release date has been confirmed, but it is expected to be released sometime in late 2017 or early 2018. What we do know is that this Audi will be the most expensive to date.Estimated figures suggest that it could cost around the £100,00 mark.
It will, of course, be a lavish and sophisticated sports car, but many improvements have been made to make this the best Audi yet. Many of the original RS features, that we know and love will be featured; such as their signature grille and original sporty bumper.
The interior, as in true Audi style, will continue to have a luxurious and sporty feel. Aluminium trims will be paired with black sporty leather seats covered in elegant Alcantara. They will also be etched with a red stitched trim. Horizontal lines should still be present as is seen in the RS7, which will make the interior appear bigger and wider. There will also be an updated dashboard and console. The RS8 badges are also sure to be emblazoned on headrests and car mats. The infotainment accessories will also most certainly be updated with the latest technology.
The exterior is forecast to look very much like an amalgamation of the Prologue Concept and RS7.
It will still feature its trademark bumper and grille, but there will be added elements, including a new diffuser and exhaust outlet system. The roof will also appear more streamlined and there will be the addition of a selection of new alloy wheels and brake callipers in a vivid red.
As yet not much is known about engine size and capability, but it is rumoured that it will be a 4 litre V8 engine, similar to that in the RS7 model. The V8 is incredibly powerful with 560 horsepower, but the updated engine should be made even more powerful with added torque. The all wheel drive and 8-speed gearbox will also be new additions. A top speed of 174 mph will be able to be reached, as well as the staggering ability to go from 0 to 60 mph in under 3.8 seconds. There is also speculation that there may be a w12 engine, similar to that in the Flying Spur and latest Bentley model.
Much more will be known about the exciting Audi RS8 nearer its launch, and hopefully, more information will be available early next year.
