The Cooper S trim is fed up by a turbocharged 2.0-Liter four-cylinder engine that cranks out 189 horsepower and 207 lb-ft of peak torque. The acceleration is excellent, sprinting from standstill to 60 mph in 6.3 seconds. However, the fuel efficiency greatly decreased to 26 mpg in city and 33 mpg on the highway.

The John Cooper Works sporty variant offers ana turbocharged 2.0-liter powerplant, delivering 228 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque. The acceleration improved slightly, going from standstill to 60 mph in 5.9 seconds along with a fuel efficiency rated at 25 mpg in city and 31 mpg on the highway.

Exterior Styling and Upscale Interior


Mini has kept the same successful and striking aesthetic for too long with minimal cosmetic changes. The 2016 Cooper looks contemporary, sleek and genuine with its iconic front fascia. The Cooper is unique on its segment and probably features one of the best styles out there with its particular rounded LED headlights and tiny hood.

  1. I use to hate the look of this car but now I kind of like it. It’s a shame that it doesn’t have to much room in the back, I do travel and we don’t pack lightly. But the more I look at it, the more I love it.
