The 2016 Audi A4

Audi, as a good German car maker, got us used to top-range cars. Amongst its features are top-notch materials, impressive driving experience, and tons of luxury both outside and inside. However, the A4 came with several changes into its pockets. Heated seats and three-spoke steering wheel are standards on the Premium trim. You don’t have to escalate too much in the lineup.

As an entry-level luxury sedan, every kind of feature is available either inside or outside. The A4’s driving experience is a pleasant experience, the performance is exhilarating, and the handling is astonishing. An entertaining ride is granted.

The sleek and premium design of the A4 will keep you like the spotlight everywhere. It’s like wearing a suit; it is stylish and irresistible for many. Perhaps, the only flaw is the absence of an adaptive cruise control system on every trim level. Also, for those who are so engaged with technology, Bluetooth and USB ports are not included with the base price.

Let’s review this German Car.

Powertrains and Excellent Performance

Every trim employs a 2.0-Liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that cranks out 220 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. The 2016 A4 uses a front-wheel-drive system and a continuously variable transmission as standard. For convenience, an all-wheel-drive system is offered as optional and it could be paired with either a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The A4 is fast, going from standstill to 60 mph in just 6.6 seconds. The fuel efficiency is below-average, rated at 24 mpg in city and 32 mpg on the highway.

The driving impressions behind the A4’s steering wheel are positive and compelling enough to be one with the sharpest handling in its segment. The A4’s standard suspension can be lowered with a sporty package in order to get an even better handling. However, the acceleration and performance are good but not as exhilarating like with some of its competitors.

Exterior Styling and Luxurious Interior

While the A4 doesn’t have the most attractive or attention-catching aesthetic in its segment, it doesn’t mean that can’t be stylish enough to satisfy. The classic and luxurious exterior is all about opulence and high-tech presence.

The front fascia is elegant, letting us know that it is an expensive car. Everything is upscale and with the iconic badge of Audi. Its low roofline and slightly elevated rear make it refined and elegant. From back, everything is good but not too striking. The fancy badge and taillights help with that problem.

The interior, as usual for Audi and other luxurious German carmakers, is sensational. Everything looks premium and with a nice touch in terms of design and built. It’s an entry-level sedan but not underestimate the A4; the seats are incredibly comfortable and with plenty of room for both legs and head. Also, the same formula is applied in the back row, so taller passengers won’t have any issues fitting inside the A4.

There is not a rear-view camera in standard trim. The same case with Bluetooth and USB port, but they are available in the highest trim level. Don’t worry about that, there are plenty of tech features equipped on it as standard. The A4 is one of the most fitted cars in its segments.

The Bottom Line: A Pure Audi

The 2016 A4 could be for you if you’re desiring an opulent and luxurious sedan without any lack in performance or handling capabilities for its low price. The drive experience is astonishing with a soft and responsive ride.

You will not like this car if you have a tight budget or if the fuel economy is a concern for you. The lacks of a rear-view camera in the base price and others safety features could represent a issue for many people.

Starting price at $37,300.

  1. My neighbor swears that Audi is the best car he has owned and that all his entire family drive. I’m not impressed with he gas mileage but the performance is suppose to be great.
