The new 2016 Lamborghini Aventador LP750-4 SuperVeloce is a mean, wild beast. An even more powerful and faster version of the Aventador is hard to imagine. But designers and engineers made one hell of a job. Going further the high expectations created by the common launch of an SV version of each Lambo, the created an ultra-lightweight bull.
With a huge price tag and limited production, not many are going to have one of these. The 2016 LP750-4 SuperVeloce wants to be the favorite toy for many wealthy guys, giving them the ride of their lives. As usual for evil Lamborghini supercars, the media loves it. But also the racing enthusiasts, thanks to its vicious specs.
LP750-4 SuperVeloce: The Mean, Fast Bull
This beautifully crafted, cutting-edge beast packs a 6.5 L V12 with a maximum speed of 8500 RPM, which generates 750 hp at 8400 RPM and has a torque production of 507 lb-ft at 5500 RPM. Taking advantage of this numbers, there is the Lamborghini Iniezione Elettronica (LIE) as the engine management system, greatly improving the performance of the engine.
As the transmission, the LP750-4 SuperVeloce features a 7-speed ISR dry double-plate clutch gearbox with all-wheel-drive with Haldex generation IV setup. All these technical details are translated in an estimated max speed of 217 mph (350 km/h). This SV monster goes from standstill to 60 mph (100 km/h) in 2.8 seconds.
Hugging the track, there are Pirelli PZero Corsa tires, 225/30 ZR20 on the front and 355/25 ZR21 on the rear. When it comes to breaking, there is a dual-hydraulic circuit brake system with vacuum brake booster working on the four wheels. Also carbon-ceramic, ventilated discs with 6-cylinder brake calipers on the front and 4-cylinder on the rear.
There are several technologies enhancing the driving experience of the LP750-4 SV. Horizontal magneto-rheological damper with push-road system works as the suspension, governed by multiple driving modes to boost the supercar performance, depending on the road circumstances.
The 2016 LP750-4 SV version is 110 lb (50 kg) lighter than the original model. The maker also achieves an increase of 150 percent in overall efficiency and 175 percent increase of downforce performance. So, this model has a dry weight of 3362 lb (1525 kg).
The power-weight ratio of 1 hp to 2 kg is almost reached by the 2016 LP750-4 SV. What pushes it down to the ground is the new, highly effective rear wing, made of carbon fiber. Do not forget all the other impressive upgrades 0n aerodynamic capacities, like modeled skirts, large air intakes, and front wings.
Comfort Objections and Final Thoughts
This sexy beast is not made for those who want a soft and serene ride. The specialized media had criticized aggressively the carbon sports seats, with are similar to a torture device, according to them. They are light, yes, but highly unpleasant.
Despite this “minor” detail, the console and instruments are beautiful as always, following the base design of the original Aventador. Also, there is a new material, called by Lamborghini’s marketers as Carbon Skin”, which is abundant inside the cockpit. It is made of carbon fiber and is soft to the touch. There are six color combinations for the interior decoration.
The 2016 LP750-4 SV is a sensual, evil beast made of expensive materials and it’s going to give you the ride of your life. Only if you are rich, of course. The base price is US$493.069, and the upcoming Roadster version is even more expensive, at least US$40.000 more.
There is no players like this one on the supercars market. Equally menacing and sexy.
