Thanks to their beauty and really high performance, Pagani supercars had been earning a positive fame and popularity all these years. This highly exclusive Italian car maker has put itself among the most exclusive and expensive brands in the supercar market. How did that happen?
Well, quite simple, actually. Pagani had been launching outstanding sports car one after another, charming the hearts of the wealthier. While these supercars do not come cheap, the sales numbers for this company had been amazing. And now, being so close of the 2016 Geneva Auto Show, a new piece of insane performance and delicious curves had been announced.
The 2017 Huayra BC comes with major enhancements, representing one of the most aggressive beasts of the Pagani’s lineup. The strong lines and bold design can hide its Huayra heart, but the model isn’t trying to do so. The Italian car maker wants the entire world to know that it’s time to put the Zonda on a side and behold the Huayra as the company’s flagship.
Let’s take a closer look at the known details about the new Huayra BC.
Italian Power and Known Specs
The 2017 Huayra BC represents a notable leap in power and performance. This speed beast will feature a twin-turbo 6.0 L V12 powerplant developed by Mercedes-AMG. This engine is heavily tuned to perform and reach its own limits. The actual reports about the specs say that the power output will be around 789 hp at 6200 RPM, but this interesting detail isn’t confirmed yet. Also, the maximum torque was reported to be 738 lb-ft.
This outstanding engine will be paired with a brand-new 7-speed automatic transmission developed by Xtrac. The main improvement here is that, according to the reports, this gearbox is 40 percent lighter than the previous in the outgoing model, which was a dual-clutch kind.
As expected, we are going to count with out-of-this-world machinery to stop the Huayra BC when it take off. Pagani added a high-performance Brembo package which includes 380 mm discs and six-piston calipers at the front end while the rear features 380 mm discs and four-piston calipers. Burning the track we are going to find P Zero tires exclusively designed by Pirelli for this model.
All the power will be sent to the rear axle, this thanks to a cutting-edge electronic active differential that wants to make a statement in terms of performance. While all these specs are highly interesting, the details announced do not include the performance numbers according to the maker, like acceleration and top speed.
You see it and you notice it. The new Huayra BC wants to be the king of the track. Pagani upgraded every single panel of the vehicle in order to increase its aerodynamics capabilities. The enhanced downforce generation, reduced lift, and upgraded airflow for high-performance cooling are priorities for this supercar.
The hardcore detailing is clear: brand-new, massive diffuser in the rear, track-focused front splitter, and a colossal carbon fiber wing back in the rear end. There is nothing subtle in the Huayra BC. We are getting 20-inch forged alloy wheels in the front and 21-inch in the rear. If you choose (pretending you are really wealthy) the track-ready version of the Huayra BC, wheels shrink a little, being 19-inch in the front and 20-inch in the rear.
The interior is what we are used to getting from Pagani. Following the same design trends, they deliver an astonishing cockpit full of top-notch materials and carbon fiber for both aesthetics and weight reducing.
The Bottom Line
While we don’t know yet many details, the new Huayra BC looks like one of the hottest supercars coming next year. The 2016 Geneva Auto Show will be the right place to know further details. By now, we can feel happy by appreciating its insane look.
The price is going to be announced next month.
