These are great times for us, the car enthusiasts. There are a few big auto shows coming up in the next months. In this matter, we have the 2016 Geneva Auto Show just around the corner, taking place next month. This means more new models to be announced. Exciting, is it?
The 2017 F-Type SVR is one of those models unveiled just before the big Geneva event, showing off a lot of power and offering a huge improve from the R model. Just remember the Range Rover Sport SVR, the high-performance SUV we reviewed last year. These two models have a strong bond with each other.
Coming from the same company now thanks to the merge of Land Rover with Jaguar, this new supercar features the same badge, which is a representation of outstanding performance and power. This way, the 2017 F-Type SVR is a masterpiece created by the Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations, which is the company’s department for speed beasts and highly customized models.

The 2017 F-Type SVR will feature a huge supercharged 5.0 L V8 powerplant which will be totally capable of producing up to 575 hp (25 more ponies in comparison with the R model) and 516 lb-ft of maximum torque (14 more than the R). Along with this engine, the new Jag receives an updated ZF 8-speed automatic transmission that enjoys really quick shift times, according to the maker.
Being all-wheel-drive, the SVR responds to a highly specialized tuning work in terms of power, suspension, and aerodynamics. In terms of performance, Jaguar says that the 2017 F-Type SVR can go from standstill to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds, which is 0.4 faster than the R model. Finally, the British car maker is glad to announce that this model will hit the 200-mph mark. Remarkable.
Design and Attractive Look
Changes are quite notable in this matter. The front fascia of the SVR features bigger, more aggressive air intakes. On the sides, we see how the outlets on the fenders are there to quickly expulse turbulent air. These additions are a proof of the investment in aerodynamics efficiency this time. The attractive rear wing is made of carbon fiber and offers, according to the maker, incredible aerodynamic improvements to the F-Type SVR in comparison with the R model.
Diamond-stitched seats with contrast stitching and piping are dominant inside the cockpit while microsuede is optional to wrap up the steering wheel and console. All the convenience items are onboard of the 2017 F-Type SVR. Expect a full sound system installation, air conditioner, nav, and so on.
