The 2016 Ibiza Cupra has just two decades from its first appearance, with an essence of a compact sport car that is unique. Being the fastest model in the Ibiza repertory, this car is known for its extraordinary performance, efficiency, and handling for those who don’t have a large amount of money in banks.
This year, the 2016 Ibiza Cupra has evolved in the lots of aspect, starting with the engine. SEAT has made an important move, using a new engine, a 1.8 L with 192 hp (replacing the previous 1.4 L with 179 hp) and the changing the transmission, switching to a six-speed manual gearbox (previously automatic). This leads to a huge increment in torque from 184 lb-ft to 263 lb-ft, increasing the performance and the general behavior of the car.
SEAT hasn’t changed that much, just the heart under the hood. A new refined and improved interior is also a trait. From outside is almost the same as the previous years, with just tiny changes and with new alloys wheels.
Efficiency, Performance, and Handling as Relevant Words
The 2016 Ibiza Cupra got a new engine: a 1.8 L TSI 4-cylinder with turbocharger and combined direct/indirect injection. This is a high-tech power plant with 189 hp at 4300 rpm and torque of 236 lb-ft at 1450 rpm, launching you standstill to 62 mph in 6.7 seconds and top speed of 146 mph (235 km/h). You can change steering behavior, the engine’s response to the movement with the acceleration pedal and the noises that reach the interior. The XDS electronic differential lock reduces the tendency to understeer and improves the handling aspect. Design Line and a Better Technology Atmosphere
In the exterior, comparing it to the previous year, hasn’t changed that much, except for the alloy wheels. One of the best things about the 2016 Ibiza Cupra’s design is the rear look. With that trapezoidal tailpipe and broad bumper design emanating a really good-looking sensation. With sharply and well-executed lines and edges, the 2016 Ibiza Cupra looks more than acceptable from any view, but not the best in its class actually.
The cockpit is cool but perhaps a little bit outdated, comparing it with the competitors. Redesigned interior looks good but not excellent, though resistant than competitor’s, with some balance between aesthetic and functionality. Attention to detail in evident in the new steering wheel from his older brother, air vents, new instrument panel, and infotainment system is all brand-new as well.
Intelligent Inside is the surprise here. SEAT Full Link feature functions as MirrorLink (copy the smartphone’s screen in the touch screen of the car), which is innovative. Apple Car Play and Android Auto offers a touchscreen to control plenty of the OS. We will also fin customizable car screen, voice commands, text message reading, and localization of the car when parked, allowing us to find it faster.
