This ultra-supercar was presented at the 2013 Ginebra Auto Show and left lots of jaws on the floor. Presented as a new, never-seen-before design and featuring an astonishing performance, this is the omnipotent 2015 Lamborghini Veneno Roadster. This heavenly crafted Italian hypercar is as exclusive as its design. In 2013 were built only 3 coupes, and then only 9 convertibles in 2014, thanks to the Lamborghini’s 50th anniversary. His design is basically inspired in the Aventador, and is intended to have the maximum aerodynamic efficiency possible, and to enhance the stability on curves, looking for a kind of “racecar drive”.
The name “Veneno” came with the brand’s tradition. Veneno is the name of one of the strongest and most aggressive bulls of Lidia, also known as being one of the fastest bull in the history.
Lamborghini has exceeded with a massive engine, massive performance, and an incredible aesthetic that is worthy to be unlimited flattered. Also, a lot of us were thinking in a legal -even illegal- way to make US$4.5 million in order to afford one of this supreme masterpiece.
Let’s review this supreme bull.
Powertrain and Diabolic Performance
Besides its unbelievable beauty, the 2015 Veneno Roadster has an incredible performance as well. With a dry weight of just 3278 lb and a 6.5L V12 engine from the Aventador, it develops up to 740 hp at 8400 rpm and 50 7lb-ft of torque at 5500 rpm. This engine is paired with a seven-speed ISR automated manual transmission with shifting characteristic depending on drive select mode, sending power to the four wheels through the Haldex Generation IV. All those specs allow the 2015 Veneno to launch from standstill to 60 mph in just 2.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 221 mph.
Design Line and Interior
Every detail in the Veneno seems to be aesthetical, but not. Actually, every single detail was developed to get the higher performance in terms of aerodynamic, with less air drag and a proper engine refrigeration. Also, the Veneno is well designed to respect to the actual trends of design in the Lamborghini’s repertory. With extreme geometric forms and a front fascia with sharp lines and LED headlights in “Y” form, it applies to the decades designs of the maker.
The 2015 Veneno is the words “speed” and “sexiness” materialized into a car. The large exhaust pipes divided by a splitter on the backside are incredible, and the adjustable rear wing that adds a lot of downforce, is huge and is intimidating by his engineering. All the exterior parts are made from carbon fiber.
The only flaw is that the Veneno doesn’t have a roof, just a strong rollover bar for safety purpose. This is quite sad because a US$4.5 million car shouldn’t let you get wet in the rain.
The interior is full of carbon fiber elements anywhere. Either driver or passenger has a clear view to the monocoque around the central tunnel and sills. The two lightweight bucket seats are made from Lamborghini’s patented Forged Composite. The center tunnel is fill up with knobs and switches, a classic of Lamborghini.
The Bottom Line
The 2015 Veneno is one of the best cars of the history, either for its design or performance. But something is certain, it’s the best car ever built by Lamborghini.
The only flaw? Having US$4.5 million sounds quite difficult, maybe impossible for a lot of us to aspire to have it one day. Also due to the low availability, having the money is not enough. You should hang with really important people in order to find one. Once you got it, you will be the supreme king of cars and ladies.
Starting price at US$4.5 million.
