The 2014 Gallardo LP 570-4 Squadra Corse, build by the motorsport division of Lamborghini, debuted at the Frankfurt Motor Show, back in 2013. This special edition was marketed as the most hardcore version of the Gallardo model for totally legal street use. This way, the legendary Italian maker pushed the boundaries of an already excellent car, developing a highly exclusive machinery.

This specialized division of the supercar maker took as a base the LP 570-4 Super Trofeo race car, used in several motorsport categories in the world. The took everything usably and designed a legal vehicle. As the “570-4” stated, this all-wheel-drive unique sports car delivered a new standard in lightweight construction. That was the real priority of the Squadra Corse, the motorsport division of the mythical company founded in Sant’Agata Bolognese, Italy, too.

Let’s take a further look at this engineering creation of hell.

Foolproof Powertrain

The 2014 Gallardo LP 570-4 Squadra Corse packed a massive V10 powerplant, which produces up to 570 hp at 8000 RPM. Next to it, we found a 6-speed single-clutch automatic gearbox with manual shifting to wheel-mounted paddles. The maximum torque generation was rated at 398 lb-ft with this setup.

The truth is that the LP 570-4 Squadra Corse isn’t about a grotesque power output. No. The winning strategy is quite different this time. As we already mentioned, this model was based on the Super Trofeo race car, which aims to be lightweight.

Of course, this isn’t a race car. Being street-legal forbid it to be more hardcore than how it is already. But the massive use of carbon fiber and other extremely lightweight materials is found. We will talk about it later.

The highly efficient carbon-ceramic brakes come standard on this model. Next, to them, we found Pirelli P Zero rubber wrapping 19-inch wheels with a black glossy finish. According to the specialized media, the 2014 Gallardo LP 570-4 Squadra Corse feature one of the best grips of the Lamborghini lineup. Well done.

Finally, the performance numbers are quite surprising, for good. The top speed is rated at 199 mph (320 km/h) while the acceleration is really impressive. According to the maker, this special edition of the Gallardo last 3.4 seconds to reach the 60 mph mark (100 km/h).

As we already mentioned, the 2014 Gallardo LP 570-4 Squadra Corse is all about lightweight materials and being smooth as a feather. With a weight of 2954 lb (1340 kg), we already know that it enters into a group of very light supercars. The great use of carbon fiber is noticeable.

One of the main improvements from the LP 560-4 model was the effectiveness of the rear spoiler, which can produce over three times the original downforce of the base Gallardo. Then, we see the Italian flag decal that goes from the front bumper to the side air intakes. Beautiful.

As paint jobs availability, this model got four different color combinations: Giallo Midas (yellow), Rosso Mars (red), Grigio Thalasso (gray), and Bianco Monocerus (white).

When we arrive at the cockpit, we appreciate at first hard a minimalistic interior composition. It features carbon fiber bucket seats with inserts in the fancy Alcantara leather. Also, a great part of the interior elements, as the central console, door panels, and handbrake frame are built in carbon fiber as well.

The Bottom Line

Unfortunately for those who didn’t participate in the exclusive waiting list, the production was limited to only 50 units. Most units were already sold before hitting the shelves.

As pricing information, we know that it had a price tag of EU€191.000 before taxes, which is about US$207.456 nowadays.
